MarianneMarianne studied illustration at college and on leaving worked as a computer graphic designer. After starting a family, Marianne continued to paint and has produced several commissions for clients of their pets.
Between college and today, Marianne has raised four children, almost all into adulthood now, with numerous dogs and hamsters to clean up after, along the way. Her love for art has never failed and she set up her studio where she does a variety of arts and crafts including textiles, pottery, jewellery, sculpting and crafting using recycled materials, to name a few. Marianne sees spending time in her studio as therapeutic, a little break from the goings on of everyday life. She becomes so engrossed in her work she wonders where the time goes, realising it is hours later and there are a million and one other things she also has to do. Now focusing on Silver clay and glass jewellery, Marianne has a level 1 diploma in Art Silver Clay and some stunning final pieces to her name. Grey Clouds & Silver Linings got its name from a series of events in Marianne's life. In 2007, her studio burned down which, at the time, was very traumatic as Marianne lost a lot of her work from college and afterwards. This was her grey cloud but was followed by rebuilding the space, making it a much better place to work in. Being given this new start was Marianne's silver lining and the new studio is better suited to her needs as it is lighter and more open, providing a more suitable layout for various workspaces and running workshops. |
